Privacy notice: website and enquiries

How we handle your personal data on this website and when you contact us before becoming a patient. The full privacy notice for patients — clinical records, consent and the systems we use — will be published here when the clinic opens on 23 November 2026.

Version 1.0 — published October 2026.

In brief. This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. When you contact us, we use what you tell us only to answer you, to confirm the fee and waiting time and, if you wish, to arrange a first appointment. Enquiries from people who do not become patients are deleted twelve months after the last message. We never sell or share your data for marketing.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Dr Attila Szigeti, Consultant Psychiatrist (MCRN 410794, Specialist Register of the Irish Medical Council), trading as Seaward Clinic, a business name registered in Ireland (no. 795597). Correspondence: c/o Dún Laoghaire Therapy Centre, 98 Patrick Street, Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, A96 R282, Ireland, or by email to info@seawardclinic.com.

What this notice covers

This notice covers two things: your visit to this website, and the personal data you give us when you contact us by email, telephone or WhatsApp before you become a patient. Once you become a patient, the processing of your clinical record is described in the patient privacy notice, which will be published here when the clinic opens, and is explained in the consent form you sign before your first appointment.

This website

  • No cookies, no tracking. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising services. Fonts, images and the introduction video are served from our own server; nothing is loaded from third parties.
  • Server logs. Like every website, ours records standard technical logs: your IP address, the pages requested, the browser type and the date and time. The site is hosted by Hostwinds LLC on a server located in the Netherlands, in the European Union. Logs are used only for security and to keep the site running, and are deleted after 30 days.
  • Links to other services. Links to Google Maps, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, YouTube, Tresorit and the support organisations named on this site open those services, which have their own privacy notices. The newsletter form sends your address to Brevo only when you press Subscribe (see below).

When you contact us

What we collect

  • By email: your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to tell us. Our email is handled by Proton Mail (Proton AG, Switzerland): messages are protected by encryption that not even Proton can read, and by Swiss privacy law, which the European Commission recognises as adequate. Proton is GDPR compliant and ISO 27001 certified.
  • By telephone: your number and the message you leave on our voicemail.
  • By WhatsApp: your number, name and messages. WhatsApp is run by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, and data may be transferred to the United States under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We use WhatsApp only for practical matters such as appointments, and ask you not to share clinical details or documents through it.

Why, and on what legal basis

We use your contact details and your message to answer your enquiry, to confirm the fee and the current waiting time and, if you wish, to arrange a first appointment and send you the forms it requires. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract of care (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). Health information you choose to include in a message is handled under Article 9(2)(h) GDPR, for the purpose of providing health care, and under the duty of medical confidentiality.

Who sees it

Dr Szigeti and the practice staff who help him handle enquiries, bound by confidentiality, and the providers named above, who act on our instructions as processors. We do not share your data with anyone else, and we never use it for marketing.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries from people who do not become patients: twelve months after the last message, then deleted.
  • If you become a patient, your messages become part of your clinical record and are kept as described in the patient privacy notice.
  • Website server logs: 30 days.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we use your email address only to send you our news: a few times a year at most. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you tick the box and confirm by clicking the link in the email that follows; the time and the address used for that confirmation are recorded as proof. You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to us; your address is then removed from the mailing list and kept only on the platform’s suppression list, so that nothing is sent to you again.

The newsletter is sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris), which stores subscriber data on servers in the European Union and acts on our instructions as a processor. Like most email platforms, Brevo can record whether an email was delivered and opened and which links were clicked; we use this only to see whether the newsletter is read, never to profile you. The subscriber list is kept separate from clinical records, and nothing about any individual’s care is ever sent by newsletter.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or, where it is no longer needed, deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these rights, email info@seawardclinic.com; we answer within one month and may need to verify your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie, telephone 01 765 0100 or 1800 437 737).

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when the clinic opens and whenever our practices change. The version and date appear at the top of the page.
